Community Service
The courts have two alternatives to a prison sentence, Probation
and/or Community service.
If you are over 15 you could be ordered to complete a period of
community service, which could range between 40 and 180 hours.
The work is supervised and caried out in the community.
If you fail to complete your community service, you will have to
return to court, where fruther hours can be added or the community
service replaced by a prison sentence.
